Digital media open up new opportunities to develop innovative content and to explore new ways to reach and interact with audiences. The EU MEDIA Programme supports a number of initiatives focusing on the development of transmedia and cross-platform projects.

Media desk Malta in collaboration with the Factory Media Group, is organising a one day seminar in transmedia. Transmedia – What? Story telling in the digital world iswill introduce participants to various elements of transmedia storytelling. The event will focus on practical aspects of using various channels to engage communities and to communicate different elements of a story. 

Guest speakers at the conference include Michel Reilhac (Executive Director of Arte France Cinéma and Director of Film Acquisitions), Alison Norrington (novelist, journalist and founder of Story Central Digital and Conference Chair at the StoryWorld Conference), Jean Pierre Magro (scriptwriter and producer) and Dean O’Toole (UK based producer).

The session will also include special interventions via conference call by Starlight Runner Entertainment founder and transmedia expert Jeff Gomez and by Nuno Bernardo, an award-winning and Emmy-nominated transmedia writer and producer.

The session targets those working in the creative industries particularly in the fields of film, broadcasting, animation, video-games, marketing communications, creative writing, publishing, as well as graphic and web design.

Media Desk Malta promotes the European Union’s Media Programme in Malta and assists individuals who wish to benefit from this programme. The Media Desk is hosted and supported by the Culture and Audiovisual Unit within the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Environment.

The seminar will be held on Tuesday February 28, from 9.30am to 6:00pm at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Vassalli Hall, Valletta.
